NORTH STATE BIA POSTS APRIL SALES NUMBERS

ROSEVILLE - A total of 486 new homes were sold during April, the highest total since last May and the highest number sold during April since 2006, the North State Building Industry Association reported today. The sales were reported in 142 subdivisions in the six-county Greater Sacramento region from Marysville and Yuba City in the north to Galt in the south.

In addition, 15,910 people visited active new-home communities last month, up from 11,823 in March and the highest April traffic numbers since 2007.

Rachel Bardis, the BIA's 2018 Chair and a principal with Sacramento-based Bardis Homes, said the increasing sales and traffic figures demonstrate the demand for new homes continues to grow.

"We've enjoyed seven straight years of increased traffic since bottoming out in 2010, and there's a very good chance we will make that eight straight years," Bardis said. "And this month's strong sales totals shows that despite gradually rising interest rates that there is a strong demand for new homes in all price ranges."
