The 2018-2019 Touchstone Ministry Theme is "Let Your Life Speak." In his book of the same title, Parker Palmer writes, ""Discovering vocation does not mean scrambling toward some prize just beyond my reach but accepting the treasure of true self I already possess." During our next fiscal year, we will examine the contours of this theme through
monthly explorations of topics such as vocation, formation, gratitude, peace, grace, surrender/letting go, mystery and transcendence. There is much fodder here for thought and action.
2018 Summer Services Team Forming
As we begin to plan for our Summer Services, which run from the last Sunday in June through the Labor Day Weekend, this theme provides us a great focus for this effort. Our informal Summer Sunday Services take place in the lounge and invite a time for deep sharing about ideas, issues and experiences which bespeak the many passions, energies and emotions and thoughts or members and friends. This Summer we invite those who would be willing to lead one of our 10 Summer Sunday mornings to consider how your life or the lives of those in our community have spoken? What treasures we possess? How our lives are challenged and changed by current circumstances and future possibilities?
Here's the ask. Are willing to lead a Summer Sunday Service or be part of our Summer Services Team? If so, please
CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP. Service leaders are invited to be in conversation with the Minister as they prepare their services. A variety of resources can be made available for the service including digital music, readings, a generic order of service, collection materials, etc. In addition to Service Leaders, if you are interested and willing to help open the church and set up the lounge on Sunday mornings, or provide Service Leaders with assistance on Sunday mornings, that would be very welcome.
