To every thing there is a season...

The splendor of autumn has arrived and the market colors grown richer and more vibrant each week. Lots of folks are asking how long we'll be on the riverfront. The answer is until November 21st. Our farmers will be harvesting for a few months yet. And with cooking and baking season upon us, we wouldn't think of leaving you! In December we'll head back to the circle to celebrate the holidays under the Peace Candle, joining the rest of the downtown merchants. The 'Holiday Market' will run Saturdays Dec. 5th, 12th and 19th from 10am-1pm.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!
It’s been a season like no other, and July came and went without celebrating our birthday. We truly are stronger than ever - thanks to all of you. So we decided it’s high time to say Happy 268th! Join us this Saturday to wish a Happy Birthday to America’s oldest, continuous, open-air market. We’ll have lots of cool historic photos on display, and special guests Grins & Grins will be strutting the market on stilts for some socially distanced birthday fun!

October is here… and so are pumpkins at Phillips Farms!  It’s time to embrace the cooler weather and shorter days and to celebrate the splendor of Autumn. Looking to bake with pumpkins? Here’s a little-known fact… canned pumpkin puree is not what you think. Most times it is actually squash (like butternut) that is used to make canned pumpkin puree. Just ask Libby’s!

Available at Phillips Farms this week: Apple Cider, Raspberries, Bartlett Pears, Honeycrisp Apples and many other apple varieties. Vegetables this week: Spaghetti squash, honeynut squash, butternut squash, acorn squash, spinach, cauliflower, broccoli, arugula, lettuce, radishes, cucumbers, Jersey tomatoes, green beans, peppers, zucchini, carrots, kale, beets, onions, garlic and more. Fragrant bunches of Eucalyptus are also back this week!

Credit cards accepted. Online ordering available at www.FellowFarmer.com. Choose Easton Farmers Market as your pickup location. $20 minimum order requested.
Scholl Orchards
Did you know that Scholl's famous apple cider is pressed daily and is unpasteurized? That explains why it tastes so delicious! Speaking of tasty... their apple cider donuts are back - another reason to love Fall! You can choose from eight varieties of apples this week including Honeycrisp, Gala
Macintosh, Crimson crisp, Crimson Gold, Empire,
Cortland, and Macoun. Apples tend to steal the show but don't miss Scholl's flavor-packed Bartlett pears. And watermelon are still here - get 'em while you still can! It's time to decorate for autumn - check out Scholl's gorgeous assortment of pumpkins and gourds. Veggies this week include lots of summer carry-overs like cherry tomatoes, beefsteak tomatoes, string beans, cucumbers, eggplant and peppers. And fall favorites like Brussel sprouts and butternut squash!
The Backyard Growers
Guess what's back... Kiwi berries! Kiwi berries are rich in vitamin C, high in fiber and a great source of potassium, vitamin E and magnesium. This beautiful little fruit is packed with antioxidants and is considered a super food! Native to northern regions in Asia with cooler climates — like central China, Siberia, and Japan — the kiwi berry, or Actinidia Arguta, has actually been growing in the United States for more than 150 years. Its fuzz-free exterior makes it easy to pop into your mouth as a quick and delicious snack. Kiwi berries are best to eat when soft – the softer the berry the sweeter the taste. They are also great in fruit salads! Ripe (soft) kiwi berries need to be kept in the fridge. Put unripe (hard) berries into a paper bag where they will soften(ripen)in 2 to 3 days at room temperature!
