CFA Shares Economic Impact of Franchising with
Governments of British Columbia and Saskatchewan
This week, the CFA held meetings with government officials in British Columbia and Saskatchewan to share the results of the recently released 2018 Franchise Forecast report.

In British Columbia, the CFA met with the Minister and Deputy Minister of Jobs, Trade and Technology, as well as the Deputy Ministers of Labour and Finance. In Saskatchewan, the CFA met with the Minister and Deputy Minister of the Economy, the Minister of Finance, and the Deputy Minister of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety.

Aside from sharing the significant economic impacts of the franchise industry in each province, the purpose of these meetings is to educate government about the franchise business model and the role that franchising plays in each and every Canadian community. These meetings help to build relationships that will lead to more engagement, consultation, and partnership opportunities regarding franchising and small business issues going forward. These proactive government meetings build on similar meetings held in Alberta, Ontario, and New Brunswick earlier this year.

The CFA will continue to meet with governments across Canada to engage officials at the ground level, so franchising is well understood.
