MP Profile
Meet Holly Hamlin. She is married to Barron who is also a teacher and coach with Monroe County Schools. They have been married for 8 years, but have been together for 14 years. They have two children: Jack (3) and Emmy (1). She is the school counselor for the Freshman Campus and for the Achievement Center. This is her 6th year in Monroe County Schools. What does she like most about her job? "She enjoys helping students and parents transition to high school and also working with students who are in need." In her spare time, she enjoys kayaking, saltwater fishing, watching football, camping, and playing tennis. If she could go back in time, she would like to go back to the 1950s so she could be a Weeki Wachee mermaid. If she did not have to sleep, she would use the extra time to "clean my house which is something I feel I never have time for." When people come to her for help, they usually need someone to talk to regarding relationships with their peers and figuring out high school. Her father has influenced her life the most. "Almost every decision I made was done to make him proud." Worrying about her children and their future keeps her up at night. Prior to graduating college, she lived in Big Sky, Montana for a few months and worked as a nanny. "I loved Montana so much, I wouldn't have come home if my husband hadn't proposed to me when he visited!"
Respect Rally

The Respect Rally sponsored by Best Buddies will be held on  Friday, March 9th. This year Willie Freight Train Raines will lead the assembly. He brings with him DJ Smooth.

We will also conduct our Spread the Word to End the Word campaign in the Commons Area during all 3 lunches on the same day as the rally. Instead of a banner we will create a paper chain with signatures because we want students to LINK UP to End the R Word and spread respect!

Adopt-A-Senior 2018 is a new program sponsored by the Bulldog Blessings.

Senior year is expensive, and we're asking our local organizations, groups and citizens to chip in and adopt some of our seniors who are in need of support. Our goal is that ALL MP Grads experience the full memory of their senior year and don't have to skip out on any activities due to cost.

Attention Seniors
The FAFSA® is the application that students must complete to apply for federal student aid, which can be used to attend an eligible college or career school. Federal student aid includes Federal Pell Grants, federal student loans, and work-study opportunities. In addition to determining eligibility for federal student aid, many states, private organizations, colleges, and career schools rely on information from the FAFSA to determine eligibility for nonfederal sources of aid.

ALL students must complete this form regardless of parent income.
