Dear Parents / Guardians, Students, Staff, and Friends of the Sanborn Regional High School Community. Here are your latest important announcements from Sanborn Regional High School:

U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen Visits Sanborn
The Senator Met With Students at an Event Sponsored by SoROCK
On Tuesday, March 27, U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen visited our school to learn about the work happening in our communities on prevention. She was joined by David Mara, Governor Sununu's Advisor on Addiction and Behavioral Health. The visit was hosted by the Southern Rockingham Coalition for Healthy Youth (SoROCK). SoROCK's mission is to help promote, support, and sustain healthy choices for children, youth, and families in our communities by actively working to reduce and prevent alcohol, marijuana, prescription and other drug misuse. The Sanborn Regional School District is proud to partner with SoROCK on this cause. At this event, several Sanborn students highlighted their work with Austin 17House, the school's Life of a Student Program, and the Sanborn Leo's Club, towards meeting SoROCK's mission.
Senior Spotlight : John Merry-Carreiro
An Article by Teacher Heather Wheeler

As the class of 2018 approaches its final days at Sanborn Regional High School, in spite of cold weather and snow days, the coming culmination of their high school years looms large in the minds of this year's seniors. Among them, John Merry-Carreiro can be found strumming his ukelele in the halls during class changes and dreaming of a future where he hopes to have open options! Interested in pursuing business or psychology, John has certainly given himself a strong base of experiences at SRHS, taking advantage of all that his high school years have had to offer.

John is a three season athlete, participating in cross country, as well as in winter and spring track. He is also a member of the Leo Club, the Key Club, the Math Team, as well as making time for Ultimate Frisbee competitions. It is no surprise to me that John has figured out how to maximize his time. As a freshman, I saw him emerge as a leader in his Physical Science class where he frequently organized his classmates in collaborative problem solving, keen to understand content and to get everyone involved to share the work. In addition to leadership in the classroom, John organized FLT interest amongst his peers in Improv as well as Ultimate Frisbee.

An excited and dedicated student as a freshman, it has been a pleasure to watch John grow these last four years. He has been an enthusiastic participant in the Sanborn community throughout his high school years, dedicating himself to his academic performance as well as being a role model in Sanborn Pride. Described by his teachers and peers as having a "great sense of humor," a "strong work ethic," a "natural leadership potential," an "insatiable love for his ukelele," and as being an all around "super young man," John will be missed when he walks his final steps as a student in these halls. John is a student that Sanborn can surely be proud to call one of its own. Congratulations John and the Class of 2018!
Senior Spotlight : Lyndsey Giordano
An Article by Teacher Erin Smith-Davis
If you have ever attended a drama production at Sanborn Regional High School, chances are that you are already aware of Lyndsey Giordano's immense talent. Lyndsey has been a mainstay on the Sanborn stage since middle school, and her stage presence and powerhouse voice have raised the bar of what performing arts at Sanborn can be.
Lyndsey's French teacher, Dee Hambucken writes, "I was fortunate to have Lyndsey in French class for three of her high school years, and although it took a lot of effort on her part, she came out of her shell.  It's difficult to imagine someone who is so at home on the stage being shy in front of a class of peers, but it was the case with Lyndsey. She had to work hard in French, but she never gave up. One of the things that I appreciate the most about Lyndsey is her willingness to work with anyone.  I look forward to seeing what Lyndsey will do in the years to come, and I know that she will be successful. Bonne chance!"
Lyndsey is active in chorus, and is a leader within her section. She's a strong singer, and students around her learn by her example. She's always willing to try out a solo, even with little to no notice at all. This year, Lyndsey is also the President of the Drama Club at Sanborn. She's active in all the productions, and has even performed leading roles like Elle Woods in Legally Blonde with community theatre groups. Lyndsey shines whenever she is on the stage!
After graduation in June, Lyndsey plans to attend Lakes Region Community College. She is unsure of what she plans to study, but I am sure that she will find a way to put her theatrical skills to use! We will miss her next year, and we wish her the very best in her future endeavors!
SRHS Announces April Staff Members of the Month
Congratulations to Mrs. L'Antigua and Mrs. Tremblay!

Each month, Sanborn Regional High School recognizes two staff members who have gone above and beyond on behalf of students. Congratulations to these two individuals who have been named our April 2018 Staff Members of the Month:

Sally L'Antigua

Mrs. L'Antigua is an administrative assistant in the Main Office. In addition to the day to day operations of the office, she is responsible for all aspects of the purchasing and bookkeeping for all aspects of our school departments, programs, clubs, and activities. This is quite the task! Teachers and students report that she always greets them with a smile and is very helpful answering purchasing questions. She is always calm and collected, and she makes everyone feel heard and appreciated. She is a true asset to our school and works hard in the background to keep our school running smoothly.

Sue Tremblay

Mrs. Tremblay is a paraprofessional who works with a number of students in various classes. In recent weeks, due to a change in needs, she has tripled her efforts to meet the needs of all the students for whom she is responsible for as well as many of the students not assigned to her. Her willingness to help all students is intuitive to her. She does not need to be asked to attend to some detail that needs support because she has already done that for her students. Her knowledge of the school, curriculum, expectations and students is a skill that greatly benefits the students that she works with.
Graduation Date Set for June 15, 2018
A Message From Principal Brian M. Stack

Dear Seniors,
It is hard to believe your time at Sanborn is almost over! This is an exciting time of year with many events and activities culminating with graduation set for Friday, June 15, 2018 . Congratulations to all seniors on your many accomplishments.
If weather permits, we will hold graduation on the library lawn. In the event of poor weather, we may have to hold graduation in the gymnasium. If this is the case all attendees will need a ticket to enter the gym. The week of graduation you will receive eight (8) admission tickets for the gymnasium ceremony. That same week, we will also hold a lottery to distribute any extra tickets that we can to families that need more than 8 tickets. Due to fire code regulations, we may not be able to accommodate all requests for additional tickets. You are encouraged to ask your classmates if they have extra tickets they could give you if you need more than eight.

The following is a list of senior activities for the remainder of the school year. Seniors who are on the "probationary" graduation list are not permitted to participate in senior activities and should speak to their counselor to find out what they need to do to be removed from probation. Please note the mandatory activities and graduation practices on June 14 and 15. Please also remember that all students must have their $50 class dues ($20 senior dues) paid in order to participate in the graduation ceremonies.
