ANAC members Nina Sublette, Ella Curry, Kristen Nolan and Carole Treston participated in AIDSWatch earlier this week in Washington D.C., joining  more than 500 people from 36 states, D.C.and Puerto Rico to advocate on Capitol Hill for the changes needed to end the AIDS epidemic in the United States. ANAC seeks abstracts for oral concurrent sessions, symposia, posters and roundtables. Authors are invited to submit abstracts that relate to the conference objectives. The deadline has been extended to April 15.  Read more information and submit an abstract.

O'Neill Institute releases new HIV Prevention report
Jeffrey S. Crowley and Sean E. Bland of the O'Neill Institute at Georgetown University havereleased  HIV Prevention in the United States: Federal Investments are Saving Lives and Stregthening Communities. It tells the story of HIV prevention from the early years to today in a way that offers a compelling case for ongoing investments to end HIV as a public health threat.    Read the report.

Global

World TB Day was March 24
Tuberculosis remains a devastating disease that disproportionately affects the developing world and people living with HIV. Nurses are involved in the TB response everyday. Read more about the involvement of nurses in Swaziland.

ANAC global membership
The ANAC global committee invites international members to  submit requests for support and services in areas such as mentoring, clinical expertise, collaborations, research and curriculum development. Please note that not all requests may be able to be met, but all will be reviewed.  

March 8 was International Women's Day
Seed Global Health  acknowledged the critical contribution of women to the global health care work force.

J ANAC Special Issue
The Journal of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (JANAC) will publish a special issue on HIV and Aging in the spring of 2019. We are seeking feature articles, including original research and systematic reviews, as well as practice briefs, program briefs,  commentaries and case studies. Submissions are due before July 1.  More information.

An online resource is now available for healthcare professionals dealing with an aging HIV population. This evidence-based toolkit has three modules, webinars, assessment tools and additional resources. View the toolkit.

Ryan White Conference on HIV Care and Treatment -- Dec. 11-14  
Submit an abstract for workshops, oral presentations or poster presentations for this national conference. Abstracts should reflect the conference theme, "Catalyzing Success: Advancing Innovation, Leveraging Data, Ending the HIV epidemic." Abstract submissions are due April 30.  Read more information and submit an abstract.

ANAC at International AIDS Conference
ANAC has been awarded the opportunity to host a nursing pre-conference July 22 at the International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2018) in Amsterdam. We are convening a planning committee of ANAC members and nursing partners who will be attending AIDS 2018. If you are attending and would like to get involved, contact Carole Treston.
