Our Mission:
Supporting lifelong faith formation in the home and congregation.

From the President's Desk

Dear Friends,

I have a confession. I love Lent and Holy Week. As church workers, the schedule is exhausting. As followers of Jesus, the journey is emotional. As Easter people, we know the joy that is to come.

This year brings a new twist for me. I began on Ash Wednesday as an interim pastor. As I marked people's foreheads with ashes, I wondered, as I always do, for whom this might be their last Ash Wednesday.

Remember you are dust and to dust you shall return. These people, who I did not even know their names, have already been claimed and named as Child of God.

On Maundy Thursday, I again will make the sign of the cross with oil; oil that was blessed by our Bishop earlier that week.

In obedience to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ, I forgive you all your sins.

Now I know a few names and a few stories. I have buried one Child of God and am preparing to baptize another. It is with great humility that we are called to serve our congregations as we walk this journey together.

So wherever you serve, in whatever capacity, may you make and take the time to walk this journey with Christ and with your people. Journey to the cross and celebrate the Resurrection. Then take time to rest and recover so you can continue on the road together with your sisters and brothers in Christ.

Blessings and Peace,

Pastor Juli Lejman-Guy

New Life Through Shared Ministry: Moving from Volunteering to Mission

Author: Judith A. Urban

Judith Urban creates a pathway for building a shared ministry system. She assists readers in transforming their congregation into one where members are invited into volunteer ministry; people are matched according to their gifts and interests with ministry opportunities; volunteers are offered support, training, and appreciation; and all grow to spiritual maturity through that ministry. This comprehensive guide is based on Urban's consulting, training, and planning with shared ministry directors and teams the past 12 years, her experience building a shared ministry system in a congregation, and her own studies in the field of volunteer management.
