Celebrating & Sharing the Arts

Over 20 years ago, The Highland Center and Arts council formed a partnership to support and engage the community through artist workshops, performances, classes and camps.

With the recent renovation of The Highland Center, we have come together again in an effort to put the finishing touches on our Auditorium Space. Our $40,000 campaign will provide:

- wall hanging system to feature local art
- portable tiered staging
- panels for better acoustics
- improved lighting & sound system
- comfortable seating
- back of stage panels

We are thrilled to announce that between our organizations, we have a kickoff gift of $5,000 towards our campaign.  If we are able to fund an additional $30,000- a generous donor has agreed to provide the final $5,000.

The Arts Council & Highland Center invite you to take part in an exciting opportunity to support both organizations through our "Take- A- Seat" campaign. Seat sponsorship will generate funds needed to outfit our performance/event space before summertime.

You have the opportunity to "Take-A-Seat" in the spotlight and enjoy having your name, a sentiment, anniversary date, or name of a person you wish to honor on a plaque showcased in our auditorium.
  • $150- Dedication of 1 seat
  • $250-Dedication of 2 seats
  • $1,000- Dedicates of a row of seats (10 in total)

Our campaign runs through June 1st. What better way to show your love than by giving a gift in honor of someone special?

Executive Director Update

It's wonderful to have such a great team of Board members, volunteers, and staff who carry out the array of Center programs and capital projects.

As summer approaches, we ask you to help us recruit new talent to the area -to fill staff and Intern positions.  We are amazed at what our past Interns have accomplished through their focused attention and passion for special projects.  Positions from Resource Development to Entrepreneurship and Business Incubation to Culinary/Hospitality to Community Development and Highland Inn Renovation internships are available.

Former interns have reported that these are great opportunities to learn about the inner workings of a nonprofit and make their mark on community programs.

If you, or someone you know is interested in these positions,  check out
www.thehighlandcenter.org for full descriptions, or email highlandcenter@htcnet.org  for more information.
