2018-19 Registration appointments have been emailed to parents. If you have not received an email with your student's 2018-19 registration date, we have not received your Online Registration Form.

Incoming Freshman for the 2018-19 school year will be receiving the Online Registration Form after acceptance letters have been returned.

Sunday, March 11
VOICE OF HOPE PROJECT
Students at Youth Day will be challenged to "take action." Students will be led in in an affirmation card writing project, called VOICE OF HOPE, to someone who has been a sign of hope or someone they believe needs an uplifting message of hope.

March 12-16
March Madness Basketball Games
SVHS students join in the fun all next week as teams play-off at lunch. We have twelve teams of 3-5 students each, all grades play!

Walkout in Remembrance of the
17 Lives Lost
On Wednesday, March 14th, students will lead a walkout assembly taking place in solidarity with Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Participants will make their way to Tillman Hall where several students will speak, lead prayers and sing. There will also be open letter and prayer writing stations. We ask that everyone wear orange—Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School's color. All students, faculty, parents, and alumni are encouraged to join this student led event.

Give Blood & Create a Scholarship Opportunity
The Second of our Two Annual Blood Drives is next week. We encourage parents and community to join and donate!
__If you donated at our last drive you are eligible to donate again. 
__You must be 16 years or older to donate and meet all donation requirements. 
Last semester we had a record number of donations and if we have just 23 more, we are eligible for a $300 scholarship for a SVHS student! If you would like to donate or have any questions please make an appt. by contacting Ana Aranda at aaranda@svhs-pet.org

El Roy Tacos @ Lunch
Burritos, beans, rice, drinks and dessert will be sold at the school on Thursday. This sale will implement some new systems including two lines and pre-sale of tickets on Wednesday, 14th to help the line go much faster and give students time to go back for more!

Econ Week
The much-awaited spring Econ Week is almost here! Seniors in the semester-long economics class create a start-up   food venture with profit and loss statements and a business plan. Seniors take over the inner-courtyard every break and lunch period.

Volunteers are still needed to help Salvador in the SVHS kitchen.
We have openings for  Morning Break from 9-12  (6 openings) and  Lunch from 12-2:30 
(8 openings.) Shifts are for 1 day/wk., every other week, for the remaining semester.
The kitchen is also looking for volunteers for the 2018-19 school year.

STUDENT ACCOUNTS OFFICE
2018-19 Financial Aid Applications are due now.
For the 2018-19 school year financial aid awards will be based on a budgeted amount of funds. Complete applications will be reviewed all together after the final due dates and awards granted. It is very important that your application is complete on the due date to be eligible for a financial aid award. 
There may not be additional funds available after the awards are granted.

The SVHS 2018-19 Financial Aid Application is available through our school website at www.svhs-pet.org. Go to Admissions and then Tuition & Assistance and follow the instructions to apply. The first round of applications closed on 1/18/18. To be included in this first round of assessments complete applications (including submissions of all required documentation) must be received by FACTS by 1/18/18. To be included in the second round of assessments complete applications (including submissions of all required documentation) must be received by FACTS by 2/16/18. For the 2018-19 school year financial aid awards will be based on a budgeted amount of funds available. Complete applications will be reviewed for each of the rounds during a designated meeting time by the financial aid committee and the results are based on the financial need of the applicant(s). It is very important that your application is complete when it is time for the committee to make the assessments and distribute the available financial aid budgeted funds.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Returning families must re-apply for each year they are requesting financial aid and meet the deadlines listed in order to be considered.
