HCPF's 2018 Legislative Agenda

The Department would like to thank all legislators for their hard work this session.  With their support, we passed the following Department agenda bills:
  • SB18-093: Repeal Obsolete Medicaid Waiver Persons with AIDS (Sen. Moreno/Rep. Arndt)
  • SB18-266: Controlling Medicaid Costs (Sen. Lundberg/Rep. Young)
  • HB18-1326: Cost Savings through Transition Services & Community Living (Rep. Young/Sen. Lambert)
  • HB18-1328: Redesign of Children's Habilitation Residential Program (CHRP) Waiver (Rep. Young/Sen. Lambert/Sen. Moreno)
  • HB18-1431: Align Managed Care Statute with Federal Regulations (Rep. Ginal/Sen. Smallwood)
A brief overview of these bills and others impacting the Department that passed this session can be found here.
Accountable Care Collaborative Phase II

The next iteration of the Accountable Care Collaborative (ACC) is scheduled to begin July 1, 2018. The goals of the next phase are to improve member health and reduce costs.

The Department continues to prepare for the implementation of the next phase of the ACC and is working hard to ensure a smooth transition of the program. The Department recently published the executed contracts for the seven regional organizations that will be charged with managing the physical and behavioral health care of Health First Colorado members. The contracts must be approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

New webinars and fact sheets, including contracting guidance for primary care and behavioral health providers, have been made available on CO.gov/HCPF/ACCPhase2 . Additionally, interested parties can  submit their questions to the Department using this form . The Department will not be able to respond directly to all inquiries, but will use the questions submitted to tailor upcoming communications and resources.
