On Dec. 21, Voya Financial announced that it entered into an agreement to divest substantially all of its Closed Block Variable Annuity segment and its individual fixed and fixed indexed annuity business. As part of the transaction, Voya Financial will divest its subsidiary, Voya Insurance and Annuity Company, to a newly formed entity that will be owned by a consortium of investors led by Apollo Global Management.
