Join us at 6:30 pm in the Nave

Celebrated on Wednesday of Holy Week, it preludes the events in Jesus’ life between the Last Supper and the Resurrection . This symbolic service enacts salvation as moving from Light to Dark then Dark to Light, originating in God’s initial command “Let there be light” in the Creation Story, and repeated through Biblical prophecies. Led by The Saint Luke’s Choir,The service concludes with singing the riveting classic text Christus Factus est:

Christ became obedient for us unto death, even to the death, death on the cross.
Therefore God exalted Him and gave Him a name which is above all names.

Ken Berg, Director of the Birmingham Boys Choir

Wednesday April 4, at 6:30pm in Graham Hall

This Western World cultural marvel developed from the Middle Ages, combining theological-liturgical foundations with literacy education in music, arts and sciences, where-when Church was the epicenter of study and performance as prayer. Today, families eagerly strive for their young men to participate, given the exceptional life skills and professional opportunities this training offers. The Anglican-Episcopal church is particularly well known for its contributions and maintenance of this great tradition. Then and now, these boys are recognized as boy band-rock stars.
