Easter Sunday Service
  April 1st - 10:00 AM

Greetings from the Deacons!

Well it appears that we have once again survived a very eventful New England winter. Some rather significant storms with lots of downed trees and limbs and some lengthy power outages. But being the hearty stock that we are we have emerged and are looking forward to better weather. I overheard one person state that the "good news" was that the record breaking cold we have had may well have destroyed the gypsy moths. Now that's what we call optimism and perseverance!!

The weather notwithstanding, our church has had an uplifting Lenten season, sharing good news stories on Wednesdays. Palm Sunday was a wonderful service and the addition of the Choir was "music" to our ears. We had a shared service with the UCC Church in Holliston on Holy Thursday and Katie will lead us in a powerful service on Good Friday. As we write this we are anticipating the joy of Easter and we know that we will once again be inspired by the resurrection and the life. Christ Is risen, He is risen indeed! Alleluia!

At our last Deacons meeting the Search Committee joined us. They explained where they were in the search process and asked for our patience going forward. It appears that hiring a part time Pastor is proving more difficult than originally thought. They assured us that they are continuing to work toward finding the right fit for our congregation and that they wholeheartedly believe that they will have success. In the meantime we are asking for patience from you and encouraging all of you to come forward if you have any concerns or questions. We are all in this together and we value your input at any time.

The Deacons are striving to keep up visitations to our less mobile members. If anyone would like to visit any one of them or just send a card please contact Linda in the office for an address. It is so important for them to feel connected.

We also voted at our meeting to donate to the Ashland Emergency Fund to help the people at the Chestnut Apartments who lost all of their possessions in a recent fire. For more information about that you can call the Senior Center.

Right now we imagine that we are all anxiously awaiting the blooming of the daffodils and forsythia. Hang in there, it's going to be a glorious sight as always!

And as always, we leave you with great hope for the future of our Church.

Blessings,
Pam Dunham and Melanie Conner

               Stewardship Sunday
                     April 29, 2018

It's that time of the year again!  It is our Stewardship season, when we give consideration to our financial support for the church for the upcoming fiscal year.
The Stewardship Committee will be sending out letters containing pledge cards in April. We ask for everyone
to prayerfully consider supporting the Church by making a pledge. We will be turning in our pledge cards on Sunday, April 29th. We hope to see you then!

Annual Branch Meetings
Sunday, April 29th

American Baptist, United Church of Christ, United Methodist and A ffiliated Branches

The yearly meetings of the four branches of our Church will be held on Sunday, April 29th immediately following the worship service.  These meetings are held to appoint Deacons (three are required from each branch), elect Officers, vote on transfers of non-participating active members to the inactive non-voting list and any other items that may be brought before the group.  Please plan  to attend your respective branch meeting.  Thank you!

If you would like to make a donation to our team, please make your check payable to Project Bread and give it to Sue Wallace or drop it off in the church office.  Thank you!

This year, will be the  50th Anniversary for Walk for Hunger!  Please save the date AND  join our church's team on Sunday, May 6th.  You may walk all or part of the 20-mile route starting and ending at the Boston Common.  You will collect pledges by asking your friends, family, and co-workers to sponsor you.  Your donations will help fund more than 400 emergency food programs and provide struggling families with a hot meal and hope; right in their own neighborhood.  Your walk will help feed children, seniors, people with chronic illnesses, and the working poor, all right here in Massachusetts.
So join us .... Together, we can make a difference!
Please speak to Sue Wallace for more details.

Brown Bag Sunday

On the third Sunday of every month, we collect and bless the donations placed inside the bins in the Narthex  of the Church.

There are many families in Ashland that rely on the generosity of others to supplement their limited grocery budget.

Would you please consider picking up a few extra non-perishable grocery items  while you are shopping?   You may bring them to the Church on Sunday morning OR drop them off at the Church during the week.  All items are delivered to the Ashland Food Pantry.

Thank you for your continued generosity.
