Easter Eggstravaganza

Help control invasive insects 
Gypsy moth and cankerworm information session on April 10 
Based on population surveys conducted in 2017, gypsy moth and cankerworm populations are expected to reach extreme levels in Oakville this year.  
Fortunately the town is prepared for the arrival of these invasive pests and we have a mitigation plan in place to help control the infestation in town woodlands.  

Join us at a public information session on Tuesday, April 10, at 6 p.m. at Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre to learn what the town is doing and what you can do to help stop these insects from harming your trees.
Upcoming events and other information

Changes for short-term rentals  

Council approved new regulations that will impact the types of properties homeowners can rent as short-term accommodations. Rental companies will also need to be licensed with the town in order to operate starting November 1. The changes will help maintain community character and create accountability in the home-sharing market.

Earth Hour this Saturday 
On March 24 at 8:30 p.m., the town will reduce its non-essential energy consumption in recognition of Earth Hour. You can do your part too! Turn down the thermostat, unplug the TV, turn off the lights as we join 7000+ cities around the world to  make a global statement in support of action on climate change.
Council business at Town Hall 

Upcoming meetings include the Administrative Services Committee (ASC) and Community Services Committee (CSC) meetings on Monday, March 26 at 7 p.m. Items on the ASC agenda include several reports related to the redevelopment of the former hospital site and CSC agenda items include the Arborist Licensing By-law and a flood mitigation progress report.
