Fifty shades of brown - that's what the golf course looks like these days. The spring green up is sure taking its sweet time to appear. This week should bring some much needed rain and warmer temperatures which should help. The dry conditions have given us the opportunity to get some projects done on the course like re-decking the little bridge to #3 green, tree trimming at #4 tee box and a very successful native burn.
The shoreline restoration is moving forward. We are working on a presentation board to display in the Pro Shop that will show the entire project. It's going to be completed in five phases, the first being the shoreline around the front and backside of #3 green. The estimated costs of phase one is $290,000, with a total cost of $1,515,000. This project will secure golfing enjoyment for generations to come.
There are two people I would like to thank at this time. First, Jeff Mertz for all of his painting expertise this winter; couldn't make it through the winter without your paint brush! And second, Doug Ranney for again volunteering to help every Wednesday this summer in our natural areas; the improvements are really starting to show! If anyone is interested in volunteering with Doug on Wednesday's feel free to contact me!
