Millford with winter camellias
Greetings!

Although spring has officially arrived, we are still feeling the effects of a long and cold winter here in New York City at the George F. Baker House, home to CAHPT's main office. Making the most of the cold, we have been planning interesting programs and events for the warmer weather, as part of a two-year celebration to commemorate CAHPT Founder and Chairman, Dick Jenrette's 50 years of preservation. Please come to our Spring Patrons Party to raise a toast to Dick and this golden anniversary! We also welcome you to celebrate with us at a tour or event this year -- read on to learn about upcoming opportunities to visit us.

Celebrating Dick Jenrette's 50 Years of Preservation
Fifty years ago, CAHPT Founder and Chairman Richard H. Jenrette purchased the 1838 Robert W. Roper House in Charleston, South Carolina, embarking on what has become a life-long adventure in preservation. He continued on to purchase Edgewater in Barrytown, New York in 1969. In restoring the two houses, Dick discovered a passion for preservation, that reflected a life-long interest in classical architecture (and a soft spot for Gone With The Wind ). Dick has since restored over a dozen historic homes, culminating in the founding of our organization, Classical American Homes Preservation Trust, which owns or will eventually take ownership of Dick's seven properties. The rest...is history!
