Update on Diablo Vista Pumping Plant - 3305 Mt. Diablo Blvd.

Please note the below time frames are estimates and subject to change. Demolition of the old plant is expected to start soon. In mid-May (likely starting on May 14) Pacific, Gas & Electric’s (PG&E’s) subcontractor will be on-site performing excavation work. PG&E’s crews will start work on May 30th and be on site for approximately one week. During this time there may be intermittent lane closures and traffic control. EBMUD crews will begin work after PG&E equipment removal is complete (likely June 6). Demolition work hours are 8AM-5PM and are expected to last approximately three weeks. During demolition work, there will be equipment operating and truck traffic for delivery and off-hauling. On several days there will be a single lane closure to drop off and pick up heavy equipment. Traffic control will be present for trucks entering and leaving the site. Once this demolition is complete, the construction of the new parking lot is expected to begin in early July. Our current construction estimate is approximately four weeks. Thanks again for your patience during this work and please let contact Community Affairs at commaff@ebmud.com should you have any questions.
