April 11 Luncheon - Proposed New SRP-CAP InterconnectMar14
Speaker: Christa McJunkin, Salt River Project (SRP) Director of Water Strategy.
Christa will provide an overview of a proposed connection from the Salt  River  Project water supply to the Central Arizona Project (CAP) canal.  The proposed project would leverage existing infrastructure to increase system flexibility and facilitate recovery of stored water.  We hope you can come to  meet Christa and enjoy

Randy Randolph, Former CAP Engineering Services Department Manager Receives Award!!
Mr. Randy D. Randolph, P.E., M.ASCE has been selected by the ASCE Utility Engineering and Surveying Institute to receive the 2018 Stephen D. Bechtel Pipeline Engineering Award "For leadership and service to the profession, particularly for significant contributions in analyzing failure modes and extents in prestressed concrete pipe. Your leadership has advanced the practices in monitoring and repairing these pipes and has mentored future engineers." Congratulations Randy!!!
May 9 Luncheon - Geologic Hazards: Earth FissuresMar14
Speaker: Philip Pearthree, Ph.D., State Geologist and Director of the Arizona Geological Survey.
Dr. Pearthree will present perspectives on the principal geologic hazards affecting the Central Arizona region including 1) earth fissures related to groundwater withdrawal and land subsidence; 2) flood hazards along smaller tributary washes and larger regional river systems; 3) landslides (rotational and translational landslides, major rockfalls, debris flows); 4) post-wildfire hazards, primarily flooding and debris flows; and 5) earthquake hazards.

ASU and NAU students are co-hosting the PSWC this year at ASU.  Volunteers are needed to help judge the events. The competition dates are April 12 through April 14, 2018.  See the link to sign-up to Volunteer.  Review the Website for more information.  Sponsorship is needed too.  Example events the students need volunteers for:
