We recently had a Street Boys meeting with 26 boys in attendance. We are still going through the Ten Commandments. The meeting was good, but it is what happened after the meeting that was exciting.

As the last of the boys were leaving, the manager of the hotel came up to me, I thought there must have been a problem. So, I prepared myself, we have had to leave other hotels because after they said, "yes," they reconsidered, and we had to find a different place for the meetings. I understand there point and thanked them for having us.   The hotel manager started by saying, "the boys were very well behaved today." Then he stated the following, "when you brought these boys to my hotel the first time 8 months ago, I wondered if I had made a good decision. I have seen a wonderful change in these boys, they are clean, there clothes are clean, and they listen to everything your staff tells them. They have been changed on the outside, but it's the change on the inside. They say, 'please and thank you.' There isn't any pushing or shoving, they actually pass the food and drink around the table." The waitress has asked that she serve them, because the Kenyans don't say, "please and thank you."

I thought back to the meeting when this program was first talked about, and I felt like it would never get off the ground, but I was out voted. Now the manager stated we are welcome any time, and then said, "please come always." I breathed a sigh of relief, and then I thanked him.

He followed up with, "these young men, will someday become husbands and fathers, you and your staff will see the good you have done."

I have seen a change in them both inside and out, but for someone else to see it and then comment, was confirmation from God saying, "this is exactly what I wanted you to do."

Isn't this what we want in all of us, a change on the inside? We are all a work in progress.

Yes, the Street Boys have a long way to go, but I think we have started a foundation. My hope is we can build on this. Someday maybe we will have a pastor, or clergy, or maybe even a missionary among them.

If they can change, with all the baggage they are carrying daily, I can only hope that all of us keep changing, and our walk with God gets closer every day.

Please pray for this program, and the Street Boys who attend.

Thank you all for your support, God is making a difference in Kenya with your help.

We love you all, may God bless you all,
Dave & Sue
