Greetings!

Tax season is almost over! The last day to file your taxes with our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is April 17. This year, our tax prep specialists have helped more than 1,000 people in our community!

If you haven't filed your taxes yet, consider these tips:

  • If your household earned less than $66,000 in 2017, you can file both your federal and state returns for free, either using MyFreeTaxes.com or by scheduling an appointment with one of our IRS-certified tax prep volunteers.
  • MyFreeTaxes.com is completely free for individuals and families who earned less than $66,000! VITA is free for individuals and families who earned less than $54,000.
  • MyFreeTaxes.com is powered by H&R Block's premium software, so filing is easy and secure! The software scans for any tax credit that you're entitled to, making sure you get your maximum refund. If you have questions, our IRS-certified specialists are ready and able to answer any of your questions or concerns.

With MyFreeTaxes.com and our VITA specialists, there's always a way you can file your taxes. If you would like an appointment with our IRS-certified tax prep specialists, please call 2-1-1 or (352) 332-4636 or you can text your zip code to 898211!
Thank you for your support!
This past Wednesday and Thursday, we participated in the Amazing Give, a 24-hour period of giving in our community. This year, we focused on our ReadingPals program and we blew right past our original goal of $5,000! We raised more than $7,500 with the help of more than 115 donors!
A special thank you to University of Florida's Alpha Phi Omega Tau, Kimberly Brown, Campbell Spellicy Engineering, Inc. and The Bagel Bakery! With your support these funds will provide new books and literary games and activities to help second- and third-grade students in Alachua County improve their reading skills!
