Unpack & Unwind

Whether you're bringing the gang or headed to Burke for a romantic getaway, lodging choices abound from honeymoon suites to slopeside condos to log cabins.

GNS Properties offers 6 gorgeous log cabins with direct access to VAST snowmobile trails and a quick drive to the slopes or Nordic trails.  Cabins accommodate from 4 - 19 people and all have full kitchens and WiFI.  Amenities vary per cabin, but include washer/dryers, secure gear storage and more.

The Village Inn of East Burke is located walking distance to shops, restaurants and cafes.  A range of thoughtfully decorated rooms and a three bedroom apartment are available.  The Inn features a guest kitchen and hot tub.  The owners are also caterers so your stay includes a chef's choice, full country breakfast to get you fueled up for the day.

If you're looking to stay slopeside, Sno Bear Lodging offers 1-4 bedroom condos right next to the mountain.  These beautiful, spacious accommodations include amenities such as high speed WiFi, washer/dryers, full kitchens with granite counters, Vermont Castings fireplaces and more.

The Comfort Inn & Suites Near Burke Mountain has something for every type of traveler whether you need a family suite or a honeymoon suite.  On-site is a fitness center, indoor saltwater pool, sauna, arcade room and WiFi access.  Located in St. Johnsbury, it's just a short drive to Burke and there are museums, shops, movie theaters and art galleries nearby.

Deal of the Month

For night skiing and day ticket rates of just $15 per adult ($10 for kids), check out the  Lyndon Outing Club .  This all volunteer non-profit has been around since 1937 and offers wonderful, affordable, family friendly skiing for all abilities.  It's one of the only ski areas left with a functioning rope tow.

Family Fun, Romance and Chocolate!

It's school break time and there are lots of ways to enjoy winter recreation options in Burke whether you're experienced or a newbie.

In need of rentals or a ski tune up for your outdoor plans?  East Burke Sports and the Village Sport Shop offer fat bike and ski rentals and both are well stocked with gear, winter clothing and repair know-how.

Of course, you know Kingdom Trails for mountain biking, but the KT Nordic Center offers all kinds of fun for the winter season including groomed trails for cross country skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking.  If you're not sure what that last one is, but want to give it a whirl, Kingdom Cycling & Experiences is just the ticket.  They offer guided fat biking tours and instruction so you can get to know the sport and the trails.   Bonus -  they are offering 15% off all winter tours!

If you're planning to hit the slopes for the first time or just need a refresher course, the Burke Mountain 2019 SnowSports Programs  offer a range of options for kids ages 3+ and adults to learn the sport.  Private lessons, rentals and repairs are also available slopeside.

Snowmobiling is a great way to explore the winter woods, but it's not a beginner activity.  If you don't have a snowmobile or experience riding, the best and only way to go is to book a guided tour with NEK Adventures.  They supply the machines, helmets and an experienced tour guide to ensure your group has a safe and fun journey.  Ask about midweek, Vermonter rates of just $99 per person!

Of course, nothing says Winter in Vermont like an old fashioned sleigh ride.  Rainbow's Edge Farm offers rides led by beautiful, friendly and strong Belgian horses.  45 minute rides can accommodate up to 15 people and traverse through private, wooded trails.  Moonlit rides are also  available.

No vacation or romantic getaway is complete without a spa day.  A visit to The Serenity Spa is just the ticket for relaxation and rejuvenation with offerings including massage services, facials, reiki, foot reflexology and more.  Check their website and facebook page for Valentine's Day Specials.

And, of course, it's chocolate season (but, really, it's a year round season)!  Stop into the little yellow candy shop just outside of the village or visit Burke Mountain Confectionery online for Valentine's Day gifts and sweet treats like Red Velvet Truffles and Hot Habanero Maple Bark.
