Self ID / Disclosure
Best practices on creating a work culture where employees are comfortable disclosing a disability

Event Recap

On July 30, 2020 Disability:IN Wisconsin presented a webinar on Self ID / Disclosure. The webinar shared best practices for creating a work culture where employees are comfortable disclosing a disability. The webinar featured peer-to-peer dialogue on how a company's culture can affect who identifies/discloses, and the need to Identify Self before asking others to identify.

Our special thanks to Greg Pollock (PNC), Tracey Andrus (Rangam), Lea Collins-Worachek (Department of Workforce Development), and Mary Dess (Northwestern Mutual) for sharing valuable information and dialogue.

Americans with Disabilities Act

On July 26, 1990, President George H.W. Bush signed the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) into law, prohibiting discrimination on the basis of disability. While the 30th Anniversary of the signing has passed, there is always more work to be done towards a fully inclusive global economy. The following are resources to help aid in awareness, education, and action towards a more inclusive future.
