El Sistema Educators Workshop
|
In alliance with El Sistema USA, Global Leaders Program will be hosting a boot camp workshop in Honduras.
Our very own, Chris Lea (Debut Winds and Overture Winds Conductor) has been invited to participate as one of the fellows in the program!
Over the course of 10 days on the ground in Honduras, 10 rigorously selected Bootcamp Fellows build valuable skills in a variety of innovative pedagogical, artistic, and social practices. Participants apply learnings on site under the guidance of an international Faculty of expert Teaching Artist Trainers. Days are spent mentoring 100 at-risk youth of the National Youth Orchestra of Honduras (Filarmónica Nacional de la Juventud Hondureña), while evening Faculty-led workshops provide an opportunity to reflect in an immersive peer-oriented setting. Upon completion, Bootcamp Fellows are awarded certificates as El Sistema Educators.
