The U.S. Census Bureau released the American Community Survey State and County Dashboard. It is an interesting tool for state and county population information (Average Household Size, Population Below Poverty, Foreign Born Population, Population with a High School Diploma or Higher, Mean Travel Time to Work (in minutes), Median Age, Median Home Value, Median Household Income, Unemployment Rate, Veterans).

The National Association of County & City Health Officials and the Center for Sharing Public Health Services are "working together to develop new tools and resources to help health centers and health departments collaborate better. If you are with a health center that has formally or informally collaborated with a health department in any way over the past 3 to 5 years, or are with a local health department who has done so with a health center, please consider completing this short survey to help inform the effort."

Trust for America's Health (TFAH) and partner organizations have prepared a toolkit to advocate for the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). The toolkit contains, among other things, links to state-by-state fact sheets related to CHIP prepared by the Georgetown University Center for Children and Families and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Join key stakeholders at Kentuckiana Health Collaborative's 2018 Annual Conference to learn the latest evidence-based approaches, best practices, and successful models of addressing mental health issues.

Kick Butts Day is a national day of activism that empowers youth to stand out, speak up and seize control against Big Tobacco. The Frankfort event will be among more than 1,000 events in schools and communities across the United States and even around the world. 

 

Youth will gather in the Capitol Rotunda from 9:30-10:30 a.m. for a postcard party and media event.  The students will complete postcards before and during the event, then deliver them to lawmakers. If you have any youth who want to be a part of this exciting event, please contact (Mahak Kalra, [email protected] or Bonnie Hackbarth, [email protected]). They will send complete registration info and more details.  There is some funding available for youth transportation to the event, and lunch will be provided.

These meetings will be an opportunity for the Kentucky HEALTHProject Team to provide updates on implementation activities, offer system demonstrations, engage citizens in system and process testing, discuss draft communications, answer questions about operationalizing specific policies, give notice of upcoming communications from the Commonwealth to beneficiaries, and address topics brought forth by forum participants.

The conference will be held at The Lexington Convention Center- Elkhorn Room in Lexington Kentucky.  

A preconference on Tuesday afternoon April 10th hosted by the Kentucky Department for Public Health's Kentucky Tobacco Prevention & Cessation Program.
