Prayer and Mental Health

Meditation and Prayer
"In my personal quest for God, I began practicing meditation. I have been faithful to it for almost 50 years, every day coming to realize that we seek God successfully when we realize that we cannot find God unless the Creative Spirit reveals Godself to us, and yet at the same time that God would not have inspired us to seek the Divine Presence unless we had already found God. God is the one searching for us!" ~ Fr. Michael Davitti SX

Wellbeing practices  remind us that God is present to us, in every cell of our being.  They enable prayer and our spiritual relationship with God by reminding us of the wholeness (and holiness) of our being, relaxing the body, and bringing us to a centred and meditative place which is prayerful in itself, or can enable us to pray more easily or readily. The Xaverian Missionaries in Preston UK are presenting Capacitar Wellbeing sessions. The next one will be on February 15th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Learn more.
Xaverian Family News

In Cameroon, the Xaverian Missionaries have inherited and cared for areas unaffected by the Gospel. They have placed particular emphasis on the training of catechists and leaders of basic Christian communities. In the work of evangelization they adopted a method characteristic of Africa that of the "oral tradition."

While in the West and South, impetus was given to the ecclesial communities of villages, in the large urban centers of Douala and Yaoundé the pastoral work was typical of that of the peripheries of the great metropolises. In the 1980's the Xaverians opened a scholasticate of theology in Yaounde for young Xaverians from around the world.
