Upcoming  Kingwood Panel Replacement and Sidewalk Projects

Houston, TX - Houston City Council Member Dave Martin would like to make residents aware that the City of Houston Public Works Department (HPW) will be conducting a panel replacement and two sidewalk installations, beginning on Monday, March 12. Contractors typically work during the daylight hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All traffic control devices will be in place at all times during the construction period. The projects are located in the Kingwood area and are funded by Council Member Martin's Council District Service Fund.

The panel replacement taking place is on Northpark Drive at Meadow Springs. The concrete panel replacement will be made on Northpark Drive in the eastbound gutter lane. One lane will be open at all times to maintain the flow of traffic.

The two sidewalk projects will occur along Mills Branch Road to increase pedestrian safety to and from Shadow Forest Elementary School. The first sidewalk project will be on Mills Branch Drive at Rustling River. The new sidewalk installation will occur on the north and south sides of Rustling River to connect existing sidewalks. The second sidewalk project will occur on the west side of Mills Branch Drive and stretch between Riverpoint Village Drive to Clover Valley.

During construction, drivers should expect reduced traffic speeds in these areas. To ensure driver and worker safety, traffic control measures will be in place at all times. The District E office has contacted the Houston Police Department's Kingwood Substation to ask that officers monitor the location and provide assistance with traffic control as needed.

All projects are expected to be completed by April 2018, weather permitting. For more information, please contact the District E Office by emailing [email protected] or by calling (832) 393 - 3008.
