BREAK OUT

There was no locking up these Sea Kings' intellectual freedoms! All our players broke out with time to spare! A great time was had by all on Friday in the library as students and faculty spent the lunch period working together to solve the series of multilayered puzzles. Challenges like these encourage collaboration, critical and creative thinking, resiliency, and fun! Thanks to all who attended! Keep an eye out for future events!

PVIT VEX TEAM COMPETES AT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Congratulations to the PVIT VEX team for competing at the VEX World Championships in Louisville, Kentucky. This rookie team had an amazing season, with many ups and downs that culminated with a great experience at Worlds. Only 7% of the VEX teams worldwide qualify for the world championships, so this team of freshman has really proven themselves.  Thank you to mentor Jud Welcher for mentoring the team and to Mrs. Jarrin for chaperoning. If you are interested in joining this team for next year, we are already working on next year's game, "Turning Point". Contact Mrs. Norris ( NORRISL@PVPUSD.NET) for more details.  https://www.vexrobotics.com/competition

PVIT ROBOMAGELLAN TEAM TAKES 4th PLACE AT ROBOGAMES

The PVIT Robomagellan team returned to Robogames, the "Olympics of Robotics", for another great finish. The team finished in 4th place as the only group of high school students competing against professional engineers. The robot, "Monty", navigated autonomously through a large field to find orange traffic cones, guided only by GPS waypoints and Monty's complex software. The students worked all year to perfect the sensors, camera, and code to guide Monty. Congratulations! We will be back at it again next year!

Palos Verdes High School is fortunate to have amazing students.  Join us in congratulating...
