Newsletters are hot right now!

Newsletters are hot right now. Even though they receive less attention than the latest whizzy technology doesn't mean they're not incredibly popular and incredibly powerful.


For chapters, newsletters are an effective way to stay top of mind with
members, providing a direct route to getting their attention. The best newsletters get an almost automatic open because readers want to see what is inside. A good newsletter's flame never burns out. Content billows with information and is always engaging. Graphics fire interest and accuracy is crucial. A great newsletter will become a part of the chapter member's routine.

Young Professionals Panel at Great Lakes Regional Conference
 
Attendees of the Great Lakes Regional Conference hosted by The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio on February 3, were fortunate to experience a panel discussion sponsored by the IISE Young Professionals. Speakers included graduate students, Eric Weston and Marisa Grayson; and young professionals, Brett Blackwell and Macy Monnin. Topics included everything from how to move to a new city and how to make new friends to whether graduate school is right for you and how to do the best at your new career.
IISE Young Professionals is a group of global young professional members that aim to strengthen their relationship with the industrial and systems engineering body at large. We create personal and professional growth opportunities including leadership development and network building. Chapter 67 - Portland, Oregon

    
Winner of the 2016 Phoenix Award recognizing chapter members reactivating a chapter that has been inactive, Portland professioal chapter rose from the ashes. The chapter has 90 members and is still growing! Brandon Booth, current president of the chapter, along with other chapter members; accomplished its reactivation in August 2016.  Earning the Bronze Award in the 2016 Chapter Recognition Program, this chapter is aiming for 2017 GOLD.
