Gigantic Spring Book Sale Fundraiser THIS WEEKEND

Our largest sale features more than 70,000 items sorted in 50+ categories - mysteries, gardening, travel, and science fiction; gently used, collectible, rare books, DVDs, CDs, books on CD and new this year -- vinyl records. There is something for everyone. Hours and details:
  • Saturday, April 21: 7-9am for Early Buyers with $15 admissions fee, 9am-5pm free to the public
  • Sunday, April 22: 12-5pm
  • Monday, April 23: 10am-5pm, books ½ price

New Perspectives Film Series: Asperger's Are Us

Four friends on the Autism spectrum are bonded through humor and perform as the comedy troupe Asperger's Are Us. In this coming of age documentary, the troupe prepares for one final, ambitious show before going their separate ways. Click here for trailer. Suggested donation is $5; refreshments are served. Connecticut's Own Concert: Friendship Concert - Music of Joseph M. Russo

This concert highlights a selection of woodwind compositions by Joseph M. Russo. Featured instruments include oboe, English horn, clarinet, bassoon, flute and piano. Having attended classes at both Juilliard and Yale, Russo has developed his own personal melodic and tonal compositional style. He has composed numerous chamber and orchestra works. More info & register

Succession Planning for Small Business

In this informative seminar on succession planning for small businesses, attendees will be educated about succession strategies and using life insurance as a funding vehicle. Specific succession techniques will be discussed as well as the tax ramifications that may arise in such planning. Senior Center Book Discussion: The Last September

Miwako Ogasawara leads a discussion of The Last September by Elizabeth Bowen. The novel is a social satire of the dying Anglo-Irish Protestant Ascendancy  set around 1920, the period of violent uprisings of the ultimately successful Irish War of Independence against the ruling class. Weir Farm Artist-in-Residence Exhibition/Reception: Kyle Riseley

April brings Kyle Riseley to the Weir Farm Artist-in-Residence program. An avid and active conservationist, Kyle paints landscapes that clearly reflect her time spent outdoors in the natural world. Her early career in design and photography have influenced the many ways she uses color, light and form. Co-sponsored by Weir Farm Art Center and Weir Farm National Historic Site and presented by Wilton Library.  More info & register
Parent Information Series Follow-Up Discussion: Managing the Impact & Influence of Digital Devices & Content
