Xaverian Missionary Priest Declared "Venerable."
Pope confirms heroic virtues of Xaverian Missionary as Servant of God
( Vatican News, May 19, 2018) [Pope Francis confirmed] "the heroic virtues of the Servant of God Pietro Uccelli, professed priest of the Pious Society of Saint Francis Xavier for the Foreign Missions (Xaverian Missionaries); born in Barco di Bibbiano, Italy, on 10 March 1874, and died in Vicenza, Italy on 29 October 1954."

"By proclaiming the heroic nature of the virtues of our confrere, Fr. Pietro Uccelli, the Pope offers a model to all the faithful for putting the Gospel into practice. Journey to Lourdes

HCPT pilgrims relive their incredible Lourdes journey.  A wonderful day was had by all in St Francis Xavier's Church, Carfin last weekend, as pilgrims returning from their recent trip to Lourdes and those getting ready for the summer pilgrimage joined together in celebration. Learn more.   Frs. Jim Clarke SX and Paddy Duffy SX accompanied two HCPT Groups to Lourdes this Easter. 
 

Alive in You!

From June 26-July 1st, Fr. Alex Rodriguez SX will be joining the ACTS Racine Youth Ministry for the annual Mission Trip, this time to Mobile, Alabama.  
First Holy Communion A Cross Borders
Over three Sundays in May we celebrated 25 young people receiving their First Communion. They were great occasion for the families of the children, St. Bartholomew's Primary School and the parish community! Check out their twitter post.

EIUC, 41 universities at the forefront of human rights protection

On the occasion of the Venetian Festa della Sensa, a presentation of the activities of the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation (EIUC) was made in the headquarters of the institution, at the Monastery of San Nicolò at Venice Lido. Interdisciplinary centre of excellence formed by a network of 41 renowned universities from all European Union member states, EIUC is the hub of a larger network involving 100 universities worldwide. Time of Remembrance and Reconciliation for Those Who Lost Their Lives during the Second World War, 8-9 May

The UN General Assembly declared 8-9 May as a time of remembrance and reconciliation and, while recognizing that Member States may have individual days of victory, liberation and commemoration, invited all Member States, organizations of the United Nations System, non-governmental organizations and individuals to observe annually either one or both of these days in an appropriate manner to pay tribute to all victims of the Second World War.
