At a recent university event, I had the pleasure of hearing the presenter speak on a topic I had never heard any other speaker touch on... the topic of “soft skills” and how students and the younger generation of professionals are sorely lacking the skills necessary to effectively communicate in person.

Tulane Visits The Park at South Market

The current students in the Materials class at Tulane University were recently treated to a unique look at precast. On March 19th, the students toured one of PCI’s past award winning projects, The Park at South Market in New Orleans, LA.

Mid South ACI Chapter Spring Symposium

The Mid South ACI Chapter, in conjunction with the MS Concrete Association, held the Spring Symposium in Jackson MS on April 3rd at the ABC Building.

With a growing trend among young people to forego a traditional college degree in lieu of mastering a trade, the Craft of Construction at the University of Mississippi drew over 200 students from both the university and high school level.

PCI Gulf South Spring Meeting
|
|
On April 16th-17th, PCI Gulf South held the annual Spring Meeting at The Grand Natchez in Natchez,MS. This year, we were honored to have Donn Thompson, Director, Architectural Precast Systems as a guest speaker.
|
|
PCI Gulf South has a long and distinguished history. Originally formed in 1961 from producers in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana, the organization incorporated as Gulf South Precast Prestressed Concrete Association. In 2016, the organization went through another transformation when it became a full Chapter of PCI and officially became known as PCI Gulf South.
