You Made 2017-2018 A Shining Success!
We survived rain, humidity, heat, extreme heat and even Hurricane Irma. We made it through the tough times, but only with the help of all of you!

To you, we cheer and applaud.  We raised over $950,000.00 because of YOU! Thank you for everything! You are the stop-talking-start-doing-band-together-and take-on-the-impossible-task-masters.

You are more than hand raisers, you are the #GAMECHANGERS!
EVENTS
Giving Challenge May 1

Please join us May 1-2 for our first ever #GivingChallenge18 presented by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County with giving strengthened by The Patterson Foundation.

The Giving Challenge is an exciting 24 hour online fundraising event beginning at 12noon on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. Our proceeds will directly benefit the Charlotte County Suncoast's Campaign for Grade-Level Reading efforts. This focuses on school success and grade-level reading by the end of third grade and ensures more children in low-income families succeed in school and graduate prepared for college, a career, and active citizenship. #BeTheOne to make a difference in the life of a child today.

Search for United Way of Charlotte County to make your gift. Do not go prior to noon on May 1, as the site will not be active.

SPOTLIGHT

Carrie Madden has a unique perspective on life that gives her (and now us at United Way of Charlotte County) a chance to make an even greater difference.

Carrie has always been fascinated how mankind can (not only) persevere but produce beauty and benevolence. Having experienced her own hardships and becoming a widow at the age of 36, she lives an intentional life to serve her family, friends and community.

Her professional life, in Tallahassee, was a very fast paced and extremely challenging career of advocacy, fundraising and events.

Carrie returned to Charlotte County a few years ago to raise her two children. We are very excited that she has joined our team part-time and is aligned with our mission.
