THE RELEVANT RECAP
Dear Chamber & Community Friends,
T he future of the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce has never looked brighter! And that was my hope, to leave it in a healthy condition for the next leadership team to take it forward to new and exciting possibilities. Over the last fifteen years, a lot has been accomplished, and I have been asked recently “what two things do you feel moved our Chamber [and community] forward the most?” I would have to say: our Public Policy Advocacy advances for one and the Grow Northwest Initiative, including the capital campaign and the resulting projects that brought us branding opportunities, safety and security initiatives, economic development traction, and of course, Bobby Lieb.

As you can read below, Bobby Lieb is the perfect man at the right time for our community and Chamber. His community and economic development expertise are needed right now as we look to solve complex problems using a short-list of tools in our tool chest. What we have and what he will capitalize on is the amazing power of people-potential in northwest Harris County. His intense focus on the work of Grow Northwest will carry over into his new role as president and CEO. He has forged important relationships and he recognizes how important our business community is to the growth and development of our region.

I am grateful for the support of too many people to mention here or even to name on May 9 th , but to the many Board members over the years who have been my wise counsel, to the members who have offered and accepted hugs and tender squeezes, and to the staff members who have put up with my good days and bad, thank you. I am grateful for all of these people, friends old and new, and feel blessed that you have walked through my life. Forgive me for choosing to leave this community that I truly do love and go to another unincorporated (?) community to live, work and play. For now, my personal and work email will be the same: BThomason1@icloud.com , so let me know how you are!

Sincerely,
Barbara Thomason
