Principal's Message
Greetings Fairmeadow Community,

The final week of school is upon us , and the anticipation and excitement is almost as electric as the first week of school! This week we celebrate the incredible accomplishments of each and every one of our Fairmeadow Firebirds as they prepare to promote to the next grade level. I am especially proud of our students for the social and academic progress they’ve achieved this year, and I have the utmost confidence for all they will achieve next year and beyond!

Two important events this week include our annual Field Day on Thursday and 5th Grade Promotion on Friday . On Thursday morning, all students head outside to participate in a variety of field games and physical activities. K-2 students participate from 8:30 to 10 am and 3-5 students participate from 10:30 to 11:50 am. Please remember to send your child to school with a water bottle and a hat/sunscreen on Thursday to stay hydrated and sun-safe! On Friday morning, we gather on the field for the 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony from 9-10 am. It promises to be a week full of activity, celebration and commemoration!

For returning families, please mark your calendars for the following welcome back activities scheduled to start the 2018/19 school year:

Wednesday, August 8th – Fairmeadow 101 Parent Information Presentation
5:00-6:00 pm, Fairmeadow MP Room

Friday, August 10th – Class Assignments Posted
4:30 pm, Principal’s Office Window

Tuesday, August 14th – First Day of School
8:30 am, Classrooms

Friday, August 17th – Welcome Back Social
5:30 – 7:30 pm, Blacktop and Field

This Friday I will wish my final fond farewell to our Fairmeadow Firebirds as they depart for summer vacation. It has been an incredible honor to serve this community as principal for the past four years, and I will cherish the many experiences we’ve shared along the way. This community is unique in your unyielding support of your school, your innovative and inspired ideas, and your unparalleled diversity of experience, language, and culture. I have learned something new every day in our work together, and from my work with your children, and for that I am exceedingly grateful.

Cheer, cheer for Fairmeadow School!

Walking Club 2017-18 Final Results
Students in grades 1-5 had the opportunity on Wednesdays this year to participate in Walking Club. Students walked or ran around the perimeter of the field and racked up many laps, which in turn, became many miles! Below is a list of all of the fantastic Walking Club participants who walked or ran the course this year (along with the number of miles they completed).

This year's top walkers were: Bennett (rm 1), Ethan (rm 7), Jack (rm 29), Samuel (rm 7), and Tetsu (rm 29). These students were awarded trophies for their dedication and perseverance at Friday's Awards Assembly. Congratulations to them and to ALL of the amazing walkers!

We hope everyone comes out to walk again next year!

Summer Camps Held at PAUSD Sites
Looking for a summer camp in your neighborhood or at one of our Palo Alto Unified school sites? Now you can find it at the PTAC website . Camp providers listed on this page host activities/summer camps at PAUSD schools and pay rental fees to our district. These rental fees help to defray the cost of running our schools while providing local opportunities for our kids. PTA Council does not endorse one camp over another. This service is offered to give parents an easy way to find out what is being offered and where. Please contact the PTAC Webmaster to recommend updates to this information. There is no charge to providers to be listed.
