YC Christmas Cash is Back!
In order to maintain the lowest tuition fee possible, each family is asked to participate in 2 fundraisers per year (actual cost per pupil is over $10,000.00).

YC Christmas Cash calendars are being sold for $25 October 9-30.  Each calendar purchased will have a four-digit number and will enter the buyer in a daily drawing for the month of December.  Each day of December has a different payout assigned.  When we pull a purchaser's calendar number on a specific date in December, they will win the amount noted on that date (we are not using PA Lottery numbers).  Every purchaser has 31 chances to win, coordinating with the 31 days of the month.  Winners will be posted on the YC website at www.yorkcatholic.org, and will be notified by email.  The winner does not need to be present to win.  Winning amounts will be mailed weekly

All orders will be placed online this year.  Click HERE to place your order.  Numbered calendars labeled with the purchaser's name will be sent home to the selling family for distribution after November 2.  Parents will be notified via email when calendars are being sent home.

If you have any questions about the YC Christmas Cash calendar raffle, please contact Mrs. Gick at [email protected] or 717-846-8871 x317.

Thank you in advance for making this a successful fall fundraiser!
Thanksgiving Food Collection
The November mission collection will be our annual food contribution to the Catholic Harvest Food Pantry.   Each homeroom is asked to donate a turkey and canned goods for a Thanksgiving dinner to the Food Pantry.  No cash donations can be collected this year due to COVID-19.  Items should be stored in each homeroom until Monday, November 9.  Please do not bring frozen turkeys until November 9.

The following are items needed:
  • Canned green beans
  • Boxed stuffing
  • Boxed desserts (brownies, lemon bars, pumpkin bars, etc.)
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Frozen turkey
Thank you for helping to make a family's Thanksgiving dinner a special one this year.

Box Tops for Education
Please check your boxed and canned goods for the Box Tops for Education logos.

If your box top is marked with this logo, please cut it out and send it to school.

If it is labeled with this box top, please scan your receipt.

Click here for more information and to download the Box Tops for Education app to scan your receipt. Be sure to select York Catholic High School as your school of choice. Our next student reward deadline is October 16, so please have your box tops into school and/or scanned by this date.  This is the major fundraiser for Junior High Student Council and Junior High activities. You don't have to buy anything or sell anything! Please try to join forces with friends, family, and neighbors to collect or scan as many box tops as possible. The homeroom collecting the most box tops will be rewarded!
Uniform Exchange

In preparation for changing the uniform dress code for the 2nd and 3rd marking periods, York Catholic is hosting a uniform exchange to assist students who are in need of uniform items.  The uniform exchange will be available for trades and purchases on Thursday, October 22, from 3:30-5 PM.  Walk-ins on days other than this date cannot be accommodated.  If you need uniforms, bring your gently worn items for an even trade or purchase some at a reduced price:  skirts $10, pants $8, sweaters $6, shirts $4.  Uniforms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Mask protocol, social distancing, and capacity restrictions will be observed.
College Admissions Information Night
A College Admission Information Night for families will be held at YCHS Thursday, October 22, at 6:30 PM.  Mrs. Eva Phillips, York Catholic College & Career Counselor, and Taylor Miller from St. Joseph's University, will review the college admission process, student transcripts, recommendation letters, and a student timeline. Mask protocol, social distancing, and capacity restrictions will be observed.  To register, contact Ms. Kathryn Dill at 717-846-8871 x354 or [email protected].
Music Association Meeting
Parents of music and choral students are welcome to attend the virtual York Catholic Music Association meeting on Monday, October 19, at 6:30 PM.  The meetings usually last approximately one hour and everyone's input and feedback are welcomed and appreciated. Your help in planning and implementing the efforts of the YCMA are critical. Please email [email protected] for the link to join the meeting.
YC Athletics Ticket Policy & Livestreams
Governor Wolf amended existing COVID-19 orders to allow for adjusted capacity to gathering limits while keeping in place the proven mitigation tools that include wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.  The Governor's adjusted order allows for 20% capacity for indoor events and 25% capacity for outdoor events. Those numbers include players/participants, coaches, trainers, security, medical, athletic game management, etc. The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) has instructed schools to follow the State of Pennsylvania directives regarding these capacity limits. With that direction, York Catholic is following these spectator guidelines:

Varsity Football Games (including Marching Band & Cheerleaders)
We will allocate 2 tickets per YC student participant, per home game. The tickets will be given to the head coach/moderator to be given to each YC student participant.  The admission gate will open at 6:15 PM.

JV and Junior High Football Games
We will allocate 2 tickets per player, per game. The tickets will be given to the head coach to be given to each player.

Boys and Girls Soccer Games
We will allocate 2 tickets per player, per game. The tickets will be given to the head coach to be given to each player.

Girls Volleyball Games
We will allocate 2 tickets per player, per game. The tickets will be given to the head coach to be given to each player.

Cross Country Meets and Golf Matches
Both sports are off of our property in public places. While we do not regulate our off-site venues, we ask that all of our spectators respect our host parks and courses and observe social distancing guidelines and Pennsylvania's face covering mandate. York Catholic fans are expected to follow the 2 people per player rule at these events.  No fans will be permitted at the end of season league tournament.

Tennis Matches
Unfortunately, York Catholic was informed by Penn State York that, due to COVID-19, we could not use their courts for our home tennis matches this season. As a result, all matches will be away matches. Therefore, we need to follow the opposing teams' rules, which, as of now, do not allow for any away fans at tennis matches.  No fans will be permitted at the end of season league tournament.

General Rules for Home YC Athletic Events
  • All fans will be asked COVID-19 screening questions before entering.
  • All fans MUST wear face coverings during the events on school property.
  • Fans must maintain at least a 6 feet social distance between themselves and the fans near them, unless they reside in the same household.
  • Spectators will not be permitted to stand outside the fence area and watch the games. Any spectator doing so will be asked to leave.
  • All spectators must remain in the designated bleacher/sitting areas.
  • Spectators may not stand on the blacktop track around turf or grass areas.
  • All spectators will be asked to leave immediately after a game is completed. No congregating or meeting the players on or around the field/gym will be permitted.
  • For outdoor events, use of indoor school facilities will not be available. Portable restrooms will be available at the field.
  • No concession stands will be open during the games. No outside food or beverages are permitted at games.
  • No visiting fans will be permitted.  York Catholic fans are also not permitted at away games.  This is a reciprocal agreement among all teams in the league.
  • Tickets are not transferable. Any tickets that will not be used must be returned to the student's head coach prior to the game.
  • There will be no re-entry to athletic events. Please be sure to bring everything from your vehicle that you will need during the event.
  • Stadium admission will be from the school-side gate only. The alley gate will not be used this season.
Livestreams
Home games will be livestreamed from the stadium and gymnasium. You will find the links on York Catholic's website, the York Catholic YouTube Channel, or by clicking here and saving to your Favorites:

Conclusion
This is and will be a fluid plan. We will continue to adjust as needed based on updated direction from the governing bodies (PA, PIAA, YAIAA). The safety protocols for all involved (participants, staff, and fans) are our first priority. The next priority is to give the students as many events as we can to get the full experience of middle and high school. We all understand having the support of parents, friends, and classmates is important to the students performing. At this time providing the students performing the experience they have earned is the goal. We ask all fans to comply with the rules and regulations we are under today so the students will not lose the opportunity of those experiences in the future.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
