Read Across America

There is one last opportunity for interested volunteers to participate in a local reading event for children. Van Duyn Elementary has asked us to reschedule the Read Across America event to Friday, April 20th (originally scheduled in early March to honor Dr. Seuss's birthday) where Members of the Central New York Women's Bar Association will be reading to children in their classrooms. Please sign up by replying to this e-mail and typing your name in the preferred time slot in the table below. I will send a confirmation e-mail to all volunteers.

The slots are approximately 30 minutes, but you may finish up earlier.  Please plan to arrive at the school 5-10 minutes early to allow time for parking and visitor sign-in procedures at the main office, as well as transit to the classroom.

You are welcome to bring your own book or use a book chosen by the teacher. Read Across America is a celebration of Dr. Seuss, so Dr. Seuss books are encouraged (but not required)!

Thank you in advance for participating in this great event that encourages and celebrates literacy!

Please contact  Amy D'Ambrogio, CNYWBA Read Across America Chair, with any questions.
