Weekend Lineup
Sausage in Schulenburg and crawfish in Anhalt

Are you in the mood for sausage? Then head to Schulenburg for the 5th Annual Sausagefest. The chamber says weather forecast for Schulenburg on Saturday does not call for rain, just high winds (hold on to your hats!). If they would need to move the event cuz of rain, it would be moved to Wolters Park. Let's hope all is well so you can dance in the street to Mark Halata & Texavia, The Moravians, Czechaholics, and Los Kolaches. And there will be plenty of great food and cold beer.

Are you more in the mood for Cajun cuisine? Then head to historic Anhalt Hall on Saturday for the annual Crawfish and Shrimp Boil sponsored by the San Antonio chapter of the Cajun French Music Association. There's even gumbo and red beans and rice. And of course lots of great music by Ca Va Bien, La Recolte, and Pas Bon Playboys. Cajun On, y'all!

Welcome new advertiser Live Oak Brewing Co from Austin. They are sponsoring our church picnic listing for the next 6 months in the paper and online at polkabeat.com. Already have a correction in the listing: Moravia Parish Picnic on July 15 will have Mark Halata & Texavia and The Moravians providing the music. Czechaholics aren't on the bill this year.

BTW: I tried the Big Bark amber lager and HefeWeizen while eating the best BBQ ever at Tejas in Tomball. Das ist good bier! Be sure to see if it's on the menu at your favorite bar/restaurant. You won't be disappointed.
