RIVERSIDE RHYTHMS
On Thursday, May 2,
Hikaru and Yoko Tamaki of Duo Yumeno
performed during students' lunch periods. The Tamakis played a mix of traditional Japanese and Western classical music. Their set list included pieces like "the Swan" from Saint-Saƫn's
Carnival of the Animals
. Yoko Tamaki introduced students to the koto, a large Japanese stringed instrument that has been around for 1000 years. Students were fascinated as they learned about the different parts of the koto, and that it is sometimes compared to a dragon!
Riverside
Rhythms
is made possible by donations to the PTA. Thank you!
