Student Research Symposium  – Help celebrate the research of Luther students and honor our graduating seniors! The 2019 Student Research Symposium will be Friday,
May 10 (9:00 – 5:00), with Senior Recognition Convocation 11:15 – 12:00. The  program and schedule  for the day are available online, along with abstracts.  Please note: To promote sustainability, there will not be printed programs this year. 

A campus programming reminder to all that Tuesday-Sunday, May 14-19 is considered  Finals Prep Week and is intended to provide additional space for students to prepare for tests, papers and finals. These six days are set aside for academic preparation for finals and Luther does not schedule public events during this time, including student-led events. All campus events conclude before May 12. Exceptions include athletic events, social gatherings, Cool Aid, student research symposia and Senior Recognition Day and Research Symposium.

Here's My Story: LGBT+ Experiences and Identities — Media coverage of LGBT+ issues usually focuses on the struggles of being queer in the modern world rather than the positive aspects of LGBT+ identity and community. Come hear stories from those within the community ranging from tribulations to affirmations and highlighting topics of identity, age, occupation and more at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, in Valders 206. Reception to follow. Sponsored by PRIDE, Counseling Services and CEPE.

First-Year Students:  Spend your junior year in England with Luther students and faculty. Attend an info session to learn more about Luther’s Nottingham Year study abroad program on Thursday, May 9, 9:40 a.m., Main 112. The 2020-21 directors, Victoria and Robert Christman, past directors, and former Nottingham Program participants will be present to share information and answer questions.

Interested in a high-impact learning experience  that offers college credit while preparing you for a career? Consider Luther College’s newest program, the  Rochester Semester . Spend Spring 2020 with a group of your peers in Rochester, MN doing an internship in your area of interest while taking two courses (including a Paideia II) from Luther College professors.   Deadline for priority consideration is May 15 . Contact Professors  Jodi Enos-Berlage  or  Robert Christman  with questions.

What Would Love Do? Luther's dance program examines this question through their performances on May 9-11 in the Jewel Theatre in the Center for The Arts. The performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 9 and Friday, May 10 and at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 11. Tickets may be purchased online at tickets.luther.edu , or at the Ticket Office.

LC Pride proudly presents the 2019 spring drag show: The Salem #itch Trials! The show will take place on Saturday, May 4 at 7:30pm in the Center for the Arts Atrium. Tickets are on sale this week from 5-7 p.m. in the Union as well as for sale at the box office in the CFL! Tickets are $3 presale, $5 at the door. Come join us for a be#itching evening of drag!

New York born violinis t and Korea based international violinist and teacher Naria Kim She will perform at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 9, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jensen Noble Hall of Music.

Lynne Postudensek Hart, Luther College adjunct faculty in music, will present a saxophone recital at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 5, in Jenson-Noble Hall of Music, Noble Recital Hall.

KWLC is hosting its second ever Talk Show Night in Marty’s on Saturday, May 4 from 5:00 to 7. The event will feature live talk shows including Two Guys One Studio, Norse News, and Sports Talk. Musical performances by Bromatic and Free Time. The event will also feature a Family Feud style game show, and a live interview with President Carlson.

Steinway artist , frequent concert soloist, avid chamber music performer and dedicated educator, Lei Weng will perform at Luther College at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jensen Noble Hall of Music.

Luther College Ringers Handbell Ensemble will present its annual spring concert at
6:30 p.m. Friday, May 3 in the Noble Recital Hall, Jenson Noble Hall of Music.
Sunflower Child Development Center is hiring teacher aides for 2019-2020 year. Work in rewarding, active environment, which sets the stage for young children to learn and grow. Luther College Needs YOU as Norse Force!

Norse Force team members can expect to spend move-in day greeting new students and their families, carrying students' belongings to their rooms, comforting teary-eyed moms and dads, and being a welcoming and friendly presence. Approximately 80-100 student volunteers will be selected to join the Fall 2019 Norse Force.
