Dear Lycée Parent or Gardian,

We were just advised , that tomorrow morning, Friday 13 at 9:00 AM the Louisiana House of Representatives is considering House Bill 25, which requires charter schools to utilize the Teacher Retirement State of Louisiana (TSRL) retirement system for teachers. This bill is problematic for several reasons.
  • Dramatic changes in personal retirement plans, force teachers to start over in a system that doesn't recognize their previous years of service.
  • Schools like Lycée that do not currently participate in the very costly TRSL would be forced to make drastic changes to their budgets.
  • This mandate would deprive charter schools of the autonomy that allows them to do what is best for their staffs.
Please help us by contacting the following committee members to voice your opposition to HB 25.

Mark Abraham, Dist. 36 (Lake Charles)
(337) 475-3016

Paul Hollis, Dist. 104 (Covington)
(985) 871-4680

Tony Bacala, Dist. 59 (Prairieville)
(225) 677-8020

Barry Ivey, Dist. 64 (Baton Rouge)
(225) 261-5739

Thank you for your time and commitment to helping Lycée.

GiveNOLA Day is the community's one-day online giving event to inspire people to give generously to the nonprofit organizations that are making our region stronger and creating a thriving community for all. Every dollar donated from midnight to midnight will be increased with additional "lagniappe" dollars provided by the Greater New Orleans Foundation.

Everyone can participate! A donation of $10 makes a difference and help us reach our goal. If we reach our goal we will have Free Dress Day after testing at both campuses on May 15!

Final placements are now available, they were posted online on the parent portal in EnrollNOLA as of Wednesday, April 11th; instructions on how to check results are on www.EnrollNOLA.org.

Did you Know?

April Fool's Day has passed but we're going to discuss it anyway. Did you know that April Fools is "poisson d'avril" en français? It means, April Fish! The hallmark of this day is placing fish, preferably drawings, on the backs of unsuspecting victims. There are lots of other pranks played on this day, much like in America. You can learn more about the day here:  https://frenchmoments.eu/april-fools-day-traditions-in-france-le-1er-avril/

This is NOT a complete list of school events.
