Onslow County 4-H volunteers attended the Volunteer Leaders' Conference held in Durham, NC. We had a lot of fun attending workshop sessions and celebrating one of our own. I'm proud to have such amazing, hardworking and committed volunteers. Thank You!

4-H Cloverbud S.T.E.M Workshop

Our 4-H Cloverbud S.T.E.M workshop was electrifying! Cloverbuds practiced making simple circuits, made LED paper circuit cards, built a rubber band powered paddleboat and engineered one of a kind structures using only toothpicks and gummy candy.

4-H Electricity Workshop

4-Her's who participated in our January Workshop enjoyed learning more about electricity. They learned about simple circuits, tested a variety of items for conductivity, made an electrical switch using paperclips and brass fasteners, created paper circuit greeting cards and soldered their own laser circuit board kit. Special thanks to our two 4-H teen leaders for helping to facilitate this workshop.

Call (910) 455-5873 to register by February 14th
No cost to register.

Remember: Your registration is not complete until you send us a copy of  your recipe and all ingredients.

6 pm to 7 pm
  • All you have to do is prepare your favorite dish, prepare a table setting for that dish, create a menu containing your dish and determine what food group (fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy, protein) it fits into.
  • You will show off your dish, tell the judges how you made it and what you would serve with it.
For example : If you make a fruit salad, it would be in the fruit group (if it is mostly fruit), you might serve it with a sandwich and milk to drink, you would know it contains a variety of vitamins and minerals and you would know how to prepare it. You might choose a tablecloth with fruit or you may just choose to use a centerpiece with fruit.
