Raising Godly leaders for a country in need
January 2019
It is hard to believe that another year has passed and a new one has started again! However, we always give praise to the Lord for all He does and there has been much accomplished in the past year for God's glory and honor and we pray that this year will bring more. We have had 37 adults come to Christ and 63 children. All glory to God!
We completed a 3rd building for our Genesis Nursery/Primary School and finally have enough rooms for each grade to have one class and for an office and a library. This was our first year for taking the national exams for the last year of Primary. All 12 7th graders did excellent on the exam, every one of them p

assing in Division 1 with the highest grades we could ever ask for. This is a real praise to the Lord and thank you to the teachers who worked so hard and the students themselves for working hard.
We received copies of the African Study Bible for all of our teachers to help them weave the word of God and a Biblical world view into their academic lessons. We also worked on membership for Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) which will further help us train our teachers as well as assist us to find good Christian teachers. This week we sent some teachers for a nine-day training session with ACSI.
We are in the process of securing and implementing an electronic records management system at our Holmes Medical Clinic that will help us manage patient records and maintain inventory of supplies and medicines. We hired an office manager to be working with this when it is all in place. We welcome Sarah!
We had nine short term mission teams throughout the year and six interns that stayed 5-6 weeks each. We enjoyed every one of the sisters and brothers who came to visit and share in ministry with us. We encourage the interns to work closely with and mentor as many children as they can, help them in their studies and much more.

We ended the year with the Christmas activities. The Christmas party is always a wonderful time and very exciting. Another chance to give the children the gospel and the true meanin

from One More ChildGlobal. It is a lot of work and a lot of fun. This year we had almost 2,600 children (almost the same as l
ast year). Entertainment included a marching band that did acrobats and our choirs. We had a full meal, cake and candy for all.
Congratulations to our 2018 program graduates and to 3 of our graduated boys who were married to wonderful Christian women.
We are thankful for our donors and the sponsors of all the children that help them to grow up to be leaders and different from the usual poverty stricken families, doing what is right before God and they are children of God. Happy and Blessed New Year!
This is a special year for us here at Hines Ugandan Ministries. We are celebrating 20 years of ministry to the community of Kamonkoli. We hope that you will all join us in various activities throughout the year culminating with a banquet in the Denver area on September 21st. Please plan now to celebrate with us and save the date on your calendar. We hope to do a few mini-celebrations at some of our supporting churches in other areas of the country as well. We thank God for His many blessings and we thank all of you for being a vital part of this ministry. We pray that you have been as blessed by the experiences as we have.
