The Chance to Be Us
Katie Kinnison preaching

You could go on a guilt trip with this. Jesus asks Peter three times if he loves him and then tells Peter to take care of people. Is Jesus just ratcheting up the expectation each time? Does he think Peter isn’t taking him seriously, isn’t being “disciple-y” enough, so he just keeps asking?

Does Peter need to prove his love?

This is Stewardship Sunday, and next Sunday (May 12 th ), we turn in our pledges. Money stuff can be really charged. Guilt may be floating around, waiting to attach itself to us. Guilt, shame, “the shoulds”, a bad case of not-good-enough – they are all ready for us, all the time.

But this is not about guilt or should or shame. This is about considering who we are, what matters to us, and what we are able to do about these things given the current realities of our lives. What does this call to “Follow me” mean for each of us right now? We can support each other in living into this question’s answer, but each of us answers it with the Living God and within the whole shape of our lives. We are living into our calling. We are becoming our whole true selves.

Join us Sunday, as we consider our callings together. We’ll have each other’s backs.

Yours on the journey,
Katie

One small step for your kids...one giant leap for God's Kingdom! Blast off with the first VBS to land on Mars...and beyond! Children will discover the wonders of God's universe and become Voyagers on a journey through space, exploring where God's power can take them. They'll lift off to distant planets on special missions to collect power sources. Along the way, they'll learn how God walked with heroes of the bible, and that God is always with them, too. Add to the adventure with out-of-this-world fun, learning, and bible stories that inspire children to give glory to God who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask...or imagine!
