Further Learning from  The ATIXA Playbook : Credibility

ATIXA offers excerpts of  The ATIXA Playbook: Best Practices for the Post-Regulatory Era, an indispensable resource tool for those who are charged with making the right decisions on sexual misconduct allegations on college and university campuses.

In the context of investigations, credibility is the accuracy and reliability of evidence. To assess credibility, you have to evaluate the source, the content, and the plausibility of the information offered. When source, content, and plausibility are strong, credibility is strong.

The first is a comprehensive guide created for LGBTQ students, allies, and other community members. It offers tips for knowing if a college is LGBTQ-friendly and highlights the schools going above and beyond to welcome these students. It also explains the Campus Pride Index and includes an interview with Gary Howell, a staff member at Argosy University who works with AU Tampa's Campus Pride group. Read the full guide here.

Join us in Columbus for Introductory Investigator Training

Registration is open for ATIXA's Title IX Training & Certification event in Columbus, OH  from June 3rd - June 8th, 2018 at the Hyatt Regency Columbus.

Attend Civil Rights Investigator Level One Training & Certification in Columbus. Registration deadline is May 21, 2018.

This course provides foundational knowledge and skills for civil rights investigators, deputies, and Title IX Coordinators/Administrators who perform and/or oversee campus investigations. The primary focus is mastering investigation of campus sexual misconduct and sexual harassment.

This training meets the required training mandates of Title IX and VAWA Section 304 for participants, whether you are a full-time investigator or have investigation responsibilities on top of other duties. No one likes to think of themselves as needing basic training, but we generally find that our registrants self-select into trainings that are a level too high for their current understanding. Good practice rests on solid foundations, and you need those fundamental elements. Attend this training if you are either an inexperienced investigator, have not been trained before, or want to solidify your fundamentals. You'll walk away from this training with an understanding of the legal underpinnings of Title IX and VAWA Section 304, as well as useful templates, practical rubrics, and the key tools of the professional civil rights investigator. ATIXA expects that professional investigators will attend 2-3 of our two-day courses over time to achieve full competence. Learn more here.

Visit our website for full event details, including registration rates, certification course schedule, and how to make your lodging arrangements today.
