The City of Chicago will highlight the Chicago Riverwalk's free summer programming. Activities include Year of Chicago Theatre themed programs, Art on theMART, walking tours led by the Chicago Architecture Center, Fishing at the Jetty led by the Chicago Park District and a pyrotechnic display on May 13. As the birthplace of house, gospel music, urban blues and other beloved genres, Chicago invites music lovers from around the world to celebrate its music legacy at three consecutive weekend festivals - the
Chicago House Conference and Music Festival (May 23-May 25), the
Chicago Gospel Music Festival (May 31 and June 1) and the
Chicago Blues Festival (June 7-9) - on stage in Millennium Park, at the Chicago Cultural Center as well as in music venues and clubs throughout the city.

City of Chicago Launches new Mural Registry
DCASE recently launched the new City of Chicago Mural Registry, a publicly-accessible database of Chicago's growing collection of murals found at chicago.gov/muralregistry. The Registry has been developed as a resource tool that will help communities identify, explore and preserve murals in our neighborhoods. Artists, organizations and property owners are encouraged to register completed murals by submitting an application. Accepted murals will be assigned a unique Mural Registration ID and will receive an official emblem from the City of Chicago. There are no fees associated with the Mural Registry. Taste of Chicago welcomes 82 Local Eateries and new presenting sponsor
Taste of Chicago has announced the lineup of 82 eateries, including 37 newcomers, participating in the 39th Annual Taste of Chicago presented by
DoorDash - the world's largest free-admission food festival - this July 10-14 in Grant Park. The festival is also excited to welcome its new presenting sponsor DoorDash, the largest and fastest growing on-demand destination for door-to-door delivery in more than 4,000 cities in the United States and Canada. Led by legendary band leader and arranger Tom Tom Washington, the
South Side Jazz Band mines the vast wealth of established and new talent on the south side of the city and has developed a repertoire that reflects the many streams of music that have shaped jazz, including swing, rhythm and blues, soul and funk.
