GDYF Annual Auction
Successful at 2018 GA Dairy Conference
The annual Georgia Dairy Youth Foundation fundraising auction saw another year of success at the Georgia Dairy Conference in Savannah,
Georgia, on Jan. 15, 2018.

Farrah Newberry, GDYF Executive Secretary, presented the 2018 Dr. Larry Guthrie award to Scott and Jennifer Glover in recognition of their dedication to GDYF fundraising events and student activities.  Congratulations to the Glover's on this well-deserved recognition.

Following the award, the evening took an exciting turn as the GDYF auction began with Phil Harvey serving as auctioneer. Industry affiliates and producers alike competed in high-speed bidding to purchase items to benefit Georgia dairy youth programs. The auction raised a total of $17,300!
2018 Southeast Dairy Youth Retreat
(From UGA Extension Service - SEDYR Facebook Page)
Plans for the 2018 Retreat are well underway. We wanted to pass on some tidbits to help you prepare. The dates again will be July 8th-12th. Our hotel will be the Hampton Inn of Covington, GA. We are tentatively scheduled for educational sessions and team building activities on Monday, a trip to Zoo Atlanta on Tuesday, and Farm Tours on Wednesday. Our farm tours this year will range from a large, commercial herd with a rotary parlor to a small, farmstead operation that sells products locally.  Of course, in between, there will be plenty of fun activities and time for all of the youth to reconnect with friends from years past as well as build new friendships. I hope you all are planning on joining us. The intention is to have all forms/documents out to the states within the next 2-3 weeks.
