Dear Friends,
After the joyous Easter celebration has passed, the Easter lilies and brass have been put away and the Alleluias have faded into the hum drum of everyday life, perhaps you've asked, "Now what?" My guess is the disciples asked a similar question to which Jesus answered, "Take this good news of resurrection and share it with the world!" The answer to, "Now what?" is, "Go and tell!" During this season of Eastertide we are looking at the fifth book of the Bible, The Acts of the Apostles, which tells the story of the "Now what?" It tells about how the church grew from a fledgling group of Christ believers into a movement that planted churches all across the Mediterranean region. Acts tells of the heroic, faithful, and even flawed efforts of men and women who not only lived the good news of Christ's resurrection, but also shared it with the world. The church as we know it and our very church at the corner of 9th and Greenleaf is fruit of their labors. How might you be a part of the, "Now what?" How might God be inviting you to tell the good news of Christ's resurrection with the world? Go and tell!

Adult Faith Formation

Join us for a 4-week study of the Acts of the Apostles using the Bible Project series. Each week, we'll begin with a brief video and launch into discussion about this remarkable book that tells the story of the early church. Acts is actually volume II of Luke-Acts, a two-volume work by the same author. Some scholars have argued it should be called "Acts of the Holy Spirit," not "Acts of the Apostles," as the Holy Spirit is far and away the most important figure, pushing the church into new territory and greater inclusivity. As we'll see, in the first-century the church was often playing catch-up, just as we are today. Be prepared to be surprised and challenged and blessed!
Remembrance in Service of Reformation:
Acts of the Apostles
In this season of Easter, we will be focusing on the Acts of the Apostles in worship. Over four Sundays, we will wrestle with this rollicking history of the nascent Jesus movement as it begins in Jerusalem and moves out to "the ends of the earth." Peter and Paul are the main actors, but truth be told it's the Holy Spirit at the helm. Women and men, Jews and Gentiles, young and old, the Spirit is empowering all of God's children to embody the love and justice of Jesus Christ. As we strive to be the church in the 21st century, we "remember" the story of the early church in service of reformation by God's grace. God is not done with us yet!

The missing link that unites an abundance of North Shore
resources with under-resourced refugee families. Food stamps don't buy necessary, every day items such as soap, diapers, laundry detergent or toilet paper. The STS truck delivers these items on the 4th Wednesday of the month to the Indo-American Center where over 125 refugee families select the items they need to continue to build sustainable lives.
