THE PILLAR OF COMMUNITY

Every year, our parent appreciation week is the week before Easter.  This is a time for our students to continue to learn about gratitude.  We are teaching students about this important life lesson and it (along
with other positive character traits) is a huge part of our mission as a school.

Our Family-Engaged Learning program (FEL) (3rd through high school) is another way we are purposefully
teaching students about character, citizenship and building positive relationships. In a highly technology driven society, it is so important for students to learn about building community.  We believe that building community starts in the home.

Thank you parents for supporting Advantage Academy students through your participation in family engaged learning.
Principal's Message
Mr. Watts
Principal
Grand Prairie East

April is Autism Awareness Month and represents an excellent opportunity to promote autism acceptance and draw attention to the millions of individuals living with autism spectrum disorder in America.

We are in the last 9 weeks of school.  It is imperative that our scholars are at school each day.  We have a lot of important events that will be taking place in the upcoming weeks, beginning with English STAAR/EOC Assessments the week of April 9th.  We will have a closed campus on the days students are testing.  No outside lunches will be permitted on the campus on Tuesday, April 10th and Thursday, April 12th.

Rochelle Northcutt
Student Academic Adivsor
Grand Prairie East

Welcome to Ms. Northcutt's, Student Academic Advising Area. I am glad to be able to assist your students with their academic needs this year.  Has your student applied and been accepted to a college?  Has your student applied for financial aid or received a scholarship or grant?  If so, please let Ms. Northcutt know so that she can add it to your student's profile.  Do you need assistance with completing college applications, financial aid, or are you looking for a scholarship? Please visit the counselor's page on our main page of the Advantage Academy website.

Testing season is upon us and we are in the midst of preparing our students for their EOC's. Please make sure that your students are getting a lot of rest and are eating good healthy breakfasts. This will help your student to be able to focus in the classroom and on the EOC's. We strive for pride in excellence in all areas of our school. We want to see all of our students grow and become great successes in this journey called life.

8:01 am  students are counted TARDY.
8:11 am  the students are marked ABSENT.

These life skills will be carried into their adult and work life.
