The Arts Council of Greater Lansing is currently looking to fill a variety of internship opportunities during Summer 2019. Internships at the Arts Council span Communications, Programming, Fund Development and more. If you or someone you know is interested in being a part of our creative family, please contact us!

The Lansing art Gallery is seeking a few select interns for all departments this summer. Passion for the arts is a must! Candidates should evidence professional appearance and conduct, strong communications and inter-personal skills. All candidates must be detail-oriented and committed to keeping scheduled days and times.

Conferences, Classes and Creative Opportunities


To help capture state park stories through an emerging and engaging art form, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is hosting Campfire Storytelling Project events across the state. These stories will allow visitors to catch a glimpse of many of the lifelong memories made in Michigan's most beautiful places.  Up to five seasoned storytellers will share their stories, while attendees are welcome to give two-minute anecdotes. These stories will be captured and distilled into a podcast shared on social media. Apply to be a storyteller now.

Registration is now open for Blue Star Museums which is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and museums across America.  Each summer since 2010, Blue Star Museums have offered free admission to the nation's active-duty military personnel and their families, including National Guard and Reserve.

Does your community have a partner that has hosted outstanding humanities-based events?  Do you have that one person in your community whose contributions result in outstanding public humanities events and projects? 
Michigan Humanities invites you to submit your nominations for thei r first statewide humanities awards. Nominations are due May 1.

The Capital Area District Library - Downtown Lansing location (CADL) is hosting a craft fair on April 27. Anyone with a library card can apply to be considered as a vendor. Space is limited. Items will be evaluated based on community standards, quality and uniqueness. CADL will provide one six-foot table and two chairs to each accepted seller; booths are not permitted. 

Join the growing list of member artists who have shown their work on the Arts Council's exhibit wall. Applications are now open for their 2019 Arts Council round-two exhibitions. Exhibition space is available for the months of July through December.  All disciplines are encouraged to apply.  Stop by the Arts Council  M-F 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. to view the space and see if it will 
accommodate  your work. 

The Clinton County Arts Council cordially invites artists to participate in the 2nd Annual St. Johns Plein Air Event in beautiful, historical downtown St. Johns.  This is a painting competition, show and sale! Artists will be allowed to paint within a 3-mile radius of the downtown area; painting sights of the "Eat Healthy/Eat Local Festival," the many historical homes and businesses; capturing St. Johns and all its beauty. Applications due April 19.

Lansing Art Gallery Presents
2019 ARTPath: 
A Call for Artists

Get your submissions in for 2019 ARTPath!

For the Summer of 2019 Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center will partner with the City of Lansing's Parks & Recreation Department to install up to 20 temporary, site-specific art works along a 3.5 mile stretch of the Lansing River Trail, which will stretch from the historic arts district of Old Town Lansing through the Capital Complex of Downtown Lansing. An estimated 50,000 visitors will enjoy the River Trail during the duration of this project. 

Artworks of all media are eligible, including but not limited to, the following: wheatpaste, moss art, fiber (i.e. yarn bombing), murals, projections, sound installations, light installations, paintings, sculpture, mixed media, photography, graphic design and installations. Interactive work is encouraged. Artists, teams or collectives will receive a stipend of $1000 for each work accepted. 

All of Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center's programs rely on the expertise of a diverse panel of art professionals to adjudicate the work.
